Old Smoky a cocktail recipe
3 oz. Michter’s US1 American Rye
1 Smoked Sugar Cube
2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
- In a crucible, torch the cinnamon sticks. Smoke a snifter.
- In a mixing tin, muddle a smoked sugar cube* and aromatic bitters.
- Add Rye and Ice.
- Stir and strain into the smoked snifter.
- Garnish with an Orange Twist.
*To smoke a sugar cube, build a simple smoker with two pans that fit well together. Set sugar cubes on one side of the bottom pan and cinnamon bark on the other. Torch the cinnamon bark and cover the bottom pan with the second, inverted, pan. Retrieve sugar cubes after 20 minutes.
